Introduction to Notion
Notion is a popular productivity and organization tool that allows users to create notes, tasks, databases and much more within a single workspace. It is designed to be flexible and adaptable, so users can customize it to suit their needs. Notion can be used for a wide range of purposes, including project management, personal organization, and team collaboration.
It is available as a web app and as a mobile app for iOS and Android.
Setting up the template
After successfully purchasing the product, you will be provided with a link, directing you to the Travel Planner template in notion.
1. The initial step is to create a duplicate copy, which will then be available in your personal notion account. To do so, simply click the duplicate button on the top-right of the page.
2. After creating a duplicate copy, you may choose to stay on your browser or open the desktop app to customize the template according to your liking.
Getting started with theNavigator
The Navigator is an umbrella database that easily lets you switch among six different categories or databases in the template. Simply click on each category and you will be taken to the corresponding database.
To exit, Click on the Navigator section on the top bar and you will return to the home page again.
All databases can also be accessed on the home page below the navigator. The databases sync automatically, so a change in either view will be visible in the other.
Now let's dive into each category and see how you can customize it to your liking.
The itinerary database is where you can organize your travel schedule, set reminders, add tags and attach files and web links.
Just below the database is where you can embed your personal google maps highlighting key places such as attractions, hotels and events.
Notion lets you embed google maps directly on a page. Simply use the slash "/" command and type maps.
Then paste the link of your personal map and press enter.

One of the most useful functions of the Travel planner is the Packing list. The one best way to organize all your travel items and never miss out on anything.
The packing list includes 5 essential item types: Apparel, Electronics, Essentials, Toiletries and Accessories. You can always add more and customize it to your liking.
Once you've noted down all the items you wish to carry on your next adventure, you can start assigning item types to each item and filter them later on for easy navigation.
The sum function on the bottom displays the total number of items you wish to carry for the trip.
Travel docs is a list view designed to store all your important digital travel documents in one place.
Notion lets you embed pdfs and directly into the database so you never have to worry about misplacing essential paperwork again.
The travel planner includes a simple budget that lets you track your travel expenses and monitor your limits.
The budget includes six expense types and can be filtered easily. More types can be added or removed later as well.
Wish list is a board view database that is divided into three categories.
1. Want to do: Any attractions or adventures that you want to do but are not a priority on your adventure will go in this category
2. Need to do: Includes all events and attractions that are a must for you to do on the current trip.
3. Done: Completed adventures will go here.
Boardview lets you easily drag and drop blocks from one category to another.
The Gallery is your personal travel journal where you can capture and retain all your photos, cherish and relive memories and reflect on your experience.
Each photo added here will act as a separate page where you can add more details according to your liking.
